In early 2016, we began the hunt to find a solution for purchasing fine jewellery at an affordable price. We searched and searched but couldn’t find a feasible solution to our jewellery needs. Bangkok, Thailand is filled with Highflying brands that you literally have to give up an entire months rent to purchase one small trinket, or you have to settle for the “Junk” costume jewellery using cubic zirconia or random glass-filled solutions which look fantastic for 2-3 months before it returns to its natural state of being junk jewellery. Every time we approached a Jeweller in one of Bangkok’s high flying malls we were always disappointed by the results we were getting. The price was always way too high for the quality of the jewellery they were selling. We in search of a beautiful 1-2 carat diamond pendant.

After weeks of research, we stumbled upon Moissanite. At first, we were sceptical on what to think regarding the gemstone and how it may be viewed by others if we had purchased a Moissanite and not a diamond. After doing more studying on the subject, we found that in the United states Moissanite is very accepted, and has become the choice of gemstone for most millennials.
During the summer of 2016, we decided to take a trip to the United States to see this unknown gemstone. In Bangkok, Thailand finding Moissanite wasn’t hard as they are many individuals selling “fake Moissanite” however we wanted to see the real deal. We were informed that Moissanite’s hardness is 9.25 out of 10 on MOH’s hardness scale. The crystallisation and clarity of the Moissanite are sometimes better than a diamond but most importantly, every time you test an authentic Moissanite the results will indicate diamond. When doing our research in Bangkok we found many suppliers trying to sell Cubic Zirconia as Moissanite. We were shocked to see even Moissanite had this problem in Bangkok, Thailand.

After having faced so many issues in Thailand with price and quality. We formed the company RIVASOM Co,.Ltd the parent company of RIVA MOISSANITE with one thing in mind, to help as many individuals to never have the issues we faced when trying to find quality jewellery at an affordable price in Bangkok. In 2019, we got our office located in Sukhumvit Soi 40. Today we are one of Bangkok’s largest Moissanite distributors. We assure all our loose Moissanite is of the best quality. All the jewellery pieces we manufacture are hand made using only gold (9K- 22K) or 925Silver.
